I’m working in AutoCAD and I have a jpeg in the title block. There is a command ‘IMAGEFRAME’ that controls if there is a frame round the image. Entering 0 turns it off, entering 1 tuerns it on. I do not want a frame so I enter 0. There is still a frame. I try a bunch of other stuff, head to google and try some more stuff. I find a dumb response in a thread to the same question saying, did you try turning it on and off again. In my mind I’m thinking fuck this guy. But it seems with computers, this is the magical way. WTF it works.

my troubleshooting procedure is usually 1) repeat command 2) REGEN 3) restart ACAD. 4) move to Rhino.

my next strep was shouting obscenities at the computer and heading to the nearest bar. I’m sure my boss would not approve of that option.

Yep, you just forced it to regen. My favorite glitch is when it fails to regen after changing the zoom and all of the circles are rendered as polygons.

o man?

As an AutoCAD user, you’re required to use OSNAP. :P

Yeah, this feature is notoriously busted. Case in point, if your template is set up with IMAGEFRAME off and you insert an image, the image will have a frame. You have to turn IMAGEFRAME on and then off again to get rid of it even though it never should have generated in the first place.

I hate computers for that exact reason. Seriously, why does that do anything?

I’ve started working for the desktop support group a bit at my work, which means troubleshooting tech issues that the front-line peeps couldn’t figure it out. Today I was texting with one of the guys who knows more than I do...

“Hey, it lets me login so I know it’s connecting to the server, but then says ‘No internet connection’ - any ideas?”

“Unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in.”

...

“I feel stupid.”

IMAGEFRAME set to 1 turns on the image frame, which then appears in your plotted output. With IMAGEFRAME set to 0 you don’t get the ugly image frame when you plot, but you can’t select the IMAGE entity by clicking on the edge of it. If you set IMAGEFRAME to 2 the frame shows on the screen, and you can select the IMAGE entity by clicking on the frame, but the image frame won’t plot.

yes, but i was setting it to 0 and it was still plotting the frame.
